The West Liberty- Salem ACME Baseball team defeated London High School 14-8 on Tuesday to earn the Title of District Champions and move onto the ACME State Tournament in Celina this weekend.  The Tigers lost to London Saturday 9-4 in the 1st round of the District tournament this past Saturday.  The Tigers then went on a roll and won 4 straight games and defeating the #1 seeded London team on back to back nights to earn the title.  Levi Moell put on an offensive show Tuesday night collecting 4 hits in 4 appearances and led the game off with a triple.  Tyler Louden then pushed a ground ball up the middle, driving in Moell to get the scoring going for the Tigers.  Thomas Allen provided additional offense with his 3 hits in 4 appearances driving in 3 tiger base runners.  Ben Hyland gave up one run and struck out 2 before turning the ball over to Thomas Allen who finished the game to seal the Tiger victory.  Tyler Louden 2-4, Chase Humphrey 2-5 with a triple, Trevor Burden 2-5 Double. The Tigers will play Celina in the first round of the ACME state tournament at Montgomery Field in Celina on Saturday, July 16 at 7:30.

If your student is planning on participating in Athletics at WL-S this year, they must be registered online. This new method will cut down on a lot of paperwork and confusion.  Sports Schedule Changes

  • West Liberty-Salem Athletic Pass Policy:

    A.        All  WLS employees, full-time or part-time may receive a WLS pass good for all WLS sponsored home athletic events providing they sign up/agree to work two athletic events either for athletic department or for the athletic association. He/She may opt to purchase the pass for $40 or may receive a $80 credit towards a WLS family pass.

    B.        Any  substitute WLS employee who would like to receive a WLS pass good for all WLS sponsored home athletic events, must pay $40. Or he/she may receive an $80 credit towards a WLS family pass.

    C.        All senior citizens over the age of70 who reside in the WLS district  and seniors who reside outside the district that regularly attend WLS sporting events due to the participation of a family member/s will receive a single admission pass good for all WLS sponsored home athletic events.  These are available year around. The person requesting must be in person to request pass.                       .

    D.        All head coaches will receive a WLS family pass for the entire year. All assistant, volunteer or middle school coaches will receive a credit of $125 towards a WLS family pass. Passes will be distributed at the beginning of each season.

    E.         A family member is any person listing that residence as their primary residence and financially dependent to a major degree upon the main pass holder.

    F.       All passes will be distributed and picked up from the central office.

    Student: $45.00

                            Single Adult: $140.00
